Debbie Carlson

About Me

I was born and raised in Mishawaka, Indiana. My dad was in the Army, and he got transferred to Cherokee, Iowa 36 years ago. I moved to Cherokee when I was 16 years old. I met my husband back then and worked at Cherokee Villa for 5 years. After we got married, I was a stay at home mom. I listened to KCHE and won prizes on the air. Eventually made friends with Nikki and they had an opening for Sunday morning DJ. That is when my career started at the radio station. I worked my way up the ladder from there. Here I am 4 kids, 2 grandkids, and 31 years of marriage later and still going strong! I work at the front desk, while also carrying on other duties including, on-air, Swap Shop, commercial orders, logs, sermons, voice tracking and so much more.

Greg Slotsky

About Me

I've wanted to get into broadcasting since I was 11 years old. I used to listen to the Kansas City Royals in 1985 every day and think how cool it would be to "drink pop, eat nachos, and watch baseball free" every day. After years of living the dream as a play-by-play announcer, I shifted into the ownership side of things. After having my own station in Grenada, Mississippi for 14 years, it was time to come back to KCHE, where I was from 2003-2007. I've been back since November of 2021 and enjoyed every minute of it!

Greg is the News Director and General Manager at KCHE.

Fun Fact

I took a shot in the dark and made a random call to the Omaha Royals and just ased if they had any openings. After telling them I listened to the KC Royals and wanted to do anything I could do to help, they told me to come to the press box on opening night! Some of the best friends I have today are because of that phone call. Never hesitate to take a chance no matter how out there is may seem.

Favorite things about working at KCHE

Our family work enviroment is like no other!
