Christian Action Program Food Pantry
The Christian Action Program, serving Cherokee County, will have a Food Pantry every Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the basement of the Immaculate Conception Rectory, 7th & Cedar Streets in Cherokee. Call 225-4635 for more information. Donations are welcome.

Take Two-sday Movie
Take Two-sday Movie at 1:00 p.m. at the Cherokee Library. This is for ages 18 and over. Popcorn is provided. Bring your own non-alcoholic drink if you wish. Call library for title and any other information.

Cherokee Farmers Market
The Cherokee Farmers Market will be open each Thursday night from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.beginning Thursday, June 2. It will be at the Railroad Depot, 119 S. 4th Street in Cherokee.The Cherokee Farmers Market features only Iowa grown produce grown in Cherokee County or the adjoining counties of Buena Vista, Clay, Ida, O’Brien, Plymouth, Sac, Sioux and Woodbury. Brightside Lounge Annual Charity Golf Tournament
The Brightside Lounge Annual Charity Golf Tournament will be today at the Cherokee Golf Course. Entry fee for the 3 person Best Shot format is $90 per team with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. All money raised will go to designated charities. This year’s benefactors are Needy Children’s Auction, Puppy Jake Foundation and the Cherokee Veteran’s Freedom Rock. Register your team at either the Brightside Lounge or the Cherokee Golf Course.
Cabin Open House
There will be a Cabin Open House at the Buena Vista County Conservation Park in Peterson from 1 to 4 p.m. with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at 1 p.m. Refreshments will be provided.
20th Annual Hanover Festival
20th Annual Hanover Festival will be today from noon until 7 p.m. at the Hanover Village, southwest of Alta, Junction of C 65 and M 27. Visit restored buildings, Vintage machinery displays, Working demonstrations and children’s activities. There will be the polka bands of Malek’s Fishermen and Mark Vyhlidal for your listening and dancing pleasure. Admission is $10 with children 14 and under free. Bring your lawn chair and enjoy the event.
Public Planetarium Show
There will a Public Planetarium Show at 2 p.m. at the Sanford Museum. All events are free and open to the public.
