    29th Annual Sermons ala Carte

    The 29th Annual Sermons ala Carte will be today at the Memorial Presbyterian Church in Cherokee with the service from 12:05 to 12:30 p.m. A lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m. at a cost of $3.00. The 2014 theme is “The Miracles of Jesus” and the sermon today is “The Healing of the Hemorrhaging Woman” by Barb Dinelli of the Quimby and Washta Methodist Churches. Servers today are Quimby Methodist Church, Washta Methodist Church and First United Methodist of Aurelia. The 2014 Ecumenical Giving will go to the Cherokee County Work Services, C.A.P. Food Pantry, CADA, Mid-Sioux, Hospice and CCMA.

    "1, 2, 3 Come Play With Me!" - Northwest Early Child Iowa will be hosting their 10th Annual Symposium at the Prairie Winds Event Center in Orange City, IA. The symposium focuses on engaging early childhood providers and giving them tools to help with the development of young children in home daycare, childcare centers and preschool settings.     The 23rd Annual Holstein Ecumenical Easter Cantata “The Shadow of the Cross” will be presented at 2 p.m. at the Holstein Good Samaritan. There will be a free will offering to benefit local charities. Refreshments will follow each presentation.

    Sanford Museum Program

    "Dollar A Day Boys" Program

    There will be a joint program with the library and Sanford Museum entitled “Dollar A Day Boys” with author, filmmaker, and songwriter Bill Jamerson who will do a presentation about the Civilian Conservation Corps and the many conservation projects they undertook in Iowa during the 1930’s. He will combine song and stories to make the program capture the spirit of the corps and how it changed the lives of the young men who participated and the farmers it benefited.

    Holstein Ecumenical Easter Cantata

There will be taste-testing featuring numerous culinary delights from area eateries and outstanding musical entertainment by Cherokee band and vocal students. This is hosted by the Cherokee Music Boosters.
